Espresso guide
Dial in espresso one variable at a time.one shot closer
Start with a stable recipe, taste the shot, then change grind before you change everything else. Tamped helps you keep the trail of dose, yield, time, grind, and notes.
Dial-in sequence
1. Lock dose
Pick a dose that fits your basket. Keep it steady until the shot tastes close.
2. Set yield
Use 1:2 as a baseline. Go shorter for body, longer for clarity.
3. Change grind
If it runs fast and sour, grind finer. If it runs slow and dry, grind coarser.
Espresso troubleshooting
Sour and thin
Try finer grind, hotter water, or a slightly longer yield.
Bitter and dry
Try coarser grind, lower yield, or reduce contact time.
Good once, lost later
Log the grinder setting, dose, yield, and time so the next shot has a reference.
Track the pattern in Tamped
Tamped turns espresso dialing into a journal: bean, roaster, dose, yield, grind, time, rating, and tasting note stay together.
